ExoMars 2018 se zdrží o dva roky

Misi ExoMars 2018 čeká zpoždění. V pondělí 2. května 2016 to oznámili zástupci Evropské kosmické agentury a ruského Roskosmosu. ExoMars 2018 je společnou misí těchto agentur. Start evropsko-ruské sondy k Marsu se tak protáhne až na rok 2020.
Zpoždění je způsobeno ve vývoji jak evropského roveru, tak ruské stacionární stanice, ale také pozdní dodávkou vědeckých přístrojů. Nestihne se tak plánovaný start v roce 2018 a mise se musí odložit na další energeticky vhodné údobí, tedy rok 2020. Aktuálním plánovaným termínem startu je červenec 2020 s příletem k Marsu a přistáním na něm v dubnu 2021 (namísto plánovaného ledna 2019).
